About us

Merton Priory Homes (MPH) was formed in 2010 following the transfer of stock from Merton Council. MPH owns and manages nearly 9,461 homes across Wimbledon, Morden and Mitcham in South West London.

The Grange 1 Our mission is to enhance the Life Chances of residents and service users by providing great homes, quality services, and by helping to build sustainable communities in the places that we operate.
We are one of 12 partners within Circle. Being part of a larger group means that we have greater financial security and more influence to secure better deals with suppliers and deliver value for money. We retain our individual and independent approach and run our services to meet the needs of our residents.
We are investing £129 million over the next ten years to bring homes we manage up to the modern standards our tenants deserve; standards fit for the 21st century.

We have already delivered 65 out of 91 promises we made to you when we were transferring. The other 29 promises are long -term projects, like decent homes, but we are confident we will deliver them on time, as we promised.

Since the launch of Merton Priory Homes in 2010, we have:

  • launched MPH Neighbourhood Wardens- first of five schemes in the UK awarded the Warden Charter 2011.
  • offer mutual exchange via House Exchange.
  • received Government funding to establish a Family Intervention Project.
  • launched a free handyperson service for elderly, disabled and vulnerable residents.
  • developed an ‘at cost’ gardening service, with priority for older, disabled and vulnerable residents as well as a service offering a free loan of gardening equipment to all residents.
  • delivered ‘MoneyTalk’, a money advice service, to over 700 residents.
  • launched five junior warden schemes involving 178 local children.
  • run a number of employment and training programmes in partnership with local organisation and contractors.
  • successfully renegotiated our gas servicing contract from £152 per home to £130.
  • reduced our gas boiler installation costs from an average of £2,468 to £1,993 - a 19% reduction.

There are more environmental and neighbourhood improvements coming over the next few years to help breathe new life into communities and rebuild pride in housing estates, and we are looking forward to working with our residents in creating better spaces and places to live.
