There are 15 places on the Board, six are for Residents (including a leaseholder), four are nominated by Mole Valley District Council and five are Independent Members – people with professional skills and expertise (such as business or financial experience) which the Board needs to help it fulfil its strategic, legal and regulatory functions.
The current Board members are:
Alan Catterick (Chairman) - Resident Board Member
Alan is a senior engineer with a local manufacturing company and spent many years in Africa, working in a voluntary capacity and on commercial engineering projects. He brings his extensive engineering and practical management experience to the Board and is determined to ensure that MVHA will provide the improvements to homes and services that will benefit all in Mole Valley. In addition to his role as Chairman of Mole Valley’s Board, Alan is a Member of the Circle Anglia Group’s Management and Strategy Boards.

Gary Howard - Resident Board Member
Gary is a leaseholder and is also active within MVHA’s Leaseholders Forum which is going from strength to strength and would like to encourage all leaseholders to participate. He wants to put forward leaseholders’ views and make sure that these are taken account of when the Board makes decisions, particularly with regard to the major repair and improvement works that are currently being undertaken. He feels that communication with leaseholders was lacking before the transfer and wants to make sure that this is no longer the case.
Gwendolyn Tingley - Resident Board Member
Lyn Tingley is retired with a background as a Town Planning Designer in the public sector, both in the UK and abroad. She would like to see an even higher level of resident involvement and believes that residents should be encouraged to take an interest in, and look after, their own communities.

Samantha Slogrove - Resident Board Member
Sam was active in tenant participation within Mole Valley for a number of years before joining the Board in 2008. She is full time working parent and is particularly anxious to ensure that younger people and families are represented on the Board. Her working background is in finance, and she holds a position of considerable trust, involving handling sensitive and confidential information.

Sheila Whitty - Resident Board Member
Sheila originally joined the Board to get the best possible transfer deal for Mole Valley’s tenants and she is now working on the challenging Older Peoples Housing review. Her working experience is mainly in accounts and wages control. She lived in Zambia for number of years before returning to the UK just over 10 years ago.

Keith Fairweather - Resident Board Member
Keith is 53 years old, and has been a Mole Valley Tenant for 29 years. He has been involved in numerous Mole Valley Housing Association groups and seminars since MVHA was formed including the Resident Auditing Team, Mystery Shopping and being a Residents Voice for the Block of Flats where he currently lives. Keith was appointed to the MVHA Board in September 2011.

Jean Pearson - Council Board Member
Jean has lived in the area for nearly 40 years and previously worked as a teacher, Head and Education Advisor. She has also undertaken voluntary work as a member of the Friendly Society (serving as a National Chairman in 1995-96) and has been a Parish Councillor in addition to fund raising work for a local hospice. Jean brings her organisational skills to the Board and wants to support tenants and the community following the successful transfer to Mole Valley Housing Association.

Peter Smith (Vice Chairman) - Council Board Member
Now retired, Peter worked for many years as a senior manager with a large computer firm and was previously a Mole Valley Councillor, where he specialised in housing and was on the housing options committee. He is now involved in a range of voluntary work, including Age Concern. He brings his IT and management skills to the Board and is determined that it will listen to tenants and work for them

Valerie Homewood - Council Board Member
Valerie Homewood was born in Epsom. She was educated at Rosebery County School and Nottingham University, where she graduated with honours in History and French. She has lived within Mole Valley for almost all her adult life; for the last 40 years in the village of Brockham. Valerie followed a career in Marketing and Social Research, latterly with the Office for National Statistics, until being elected to Mole Valley District Council in 1997 to represent the Beare Green Ward. On the council her main interests have been Housing and Planning. She chaired the council's original Affordable Housing Task Group in 2001, and also served as Chairman of the Council in 2006-7. She is married, with two sons and four grand-daughters. Valerie was appointed to the MVHA Board as a Council nominee in July 2011.

Corinna Osborne-Paterson - Council Board Member
Corinna Osborne-Patterson has lived in the area for over fourteen years, firstly in Capel, where she was part of the Capel Action Group and for the last five years in Newdigate. In 2009 she joined Newdigate Parish Council and is currently the Vice Chair and became a school governor for Newdigate Infant School in September 2008. Corinna held senior positions in several City based financial servicies companies providing large corporations with guidance on Pensions Law and Employee Benefits before resigning early in 2011 to commit full time for election into local government. She was elected a District Councillor in May 2011 and appointed to the MVHA Board as a Council nominee in July 2011. Corinna is also MVHA's Board Champion for Equality & Diversity.

Adadayo Ajakaiye - Independent Board Member
Adedayo is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and presently works as a Senior Accountant for CityWest Homes. CityWest Homes is Westminster City Councils’ ALMO managing its housing stock comprising about 22,000 properties.
Adedayo has a wealth of experience in internal control, risk assessment, financial management, financial planning and reporting gained from his current role and previous roles at Kent and Medway Strategic Health Authority and an International Research Institute in Nigeria.
Adedayo is very passionate about ensuring organisations finances are reported accurately and simply enough for ‘non-finance’ professionals and will be looking for opportunities to use his skills and experience in maintaining financial control, monitor performance and add value in the formulation of the strategic direction and policies of MVHA.

Bob Hughes - Independent Board Member
Bob retired three years ago, having worked in social housing for most of his career. He was a senior manager in a large south London Housing Association, where he managed a large portfolio of homes. He also worked on development and as a regulator for the Housing Corporation. He is a trustee of a Pension fund and heads its Investment Committee. He has also spent a number of years as an advisor for the Citizens Advice Bureau. Bob is married and lives locally. He is a keen gardener and tries to keep fit by running and yoga.

Michael Moseling - Independent Board Member
Michael is semi retired, having spent many years within the banking and construction industries, most recently with the engineering consultancy Atkins, where he was Project Finance Director. He has a thorough knowledge of the finance market and has been directly involved in raising property finance in banking and in the construction industry, with direct experience of housing finance and the development of a significant regeneration scheme in North London. He is also South East Regional Treasurer for RSA.
Ian Taylor - Independent Board Member
Ian Taylor has been Senior Partner of a local firm of Architects – Taylor Williams Daley since 1984. Before moving to private practice, he worked for the Greater London Council and for a firm of architects who specialised in public sector housing. In addition to his general management skills and experience gained from running his practice, Ian demonstrated a clear understanding of the impact that good housing design can have on residents’ Life Chances and the Panel felt that his professional expertise would be particularly helpful to the Board as MVHA considers options for its non-traditional stock and sheltered housing.

Hazel Watson - Independent Board Member
Hazel Watson is a qualified solicitor, and has been a Surrey County Councillor for the past 17 years, serving on a wide range of Panels and Committees, including the Member Asset Panel, Personnel and Appointments Committee and Adults and Community Care Select Committee. She currently Chairs the ProjX Steering Group, a multi-agency group providing detached youth work for young people in Mole Valley and sits on the Surrey Policy Authority and Mole Valley Social Care Planning Group. She is committed to improving the quality and quantity of social housing within Mole Valley and believes that MVHA has an important role to play both as a local housing provider and within the wider community through its Life Chances initiatives.
